Protecting your personal data is particularly important to us. The following explains which data are collected when you use the Bitvizo website and how we process these data.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for the collection, processing and use of your personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

bitvizo UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Steiermärker Str. 3-5, 70469 Stuttgart, Germany
E-mail: support@bitvizo.com
2. Collection and Storage of Personal Data

We collect personal data when you use our website, register, purchase a subscription or contact us (e.g. via the contact form or by e-mail). We process these data for the purpose of providing and improving our services and for handling your enquiries. We will not use your personal data for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

Types of data collected:
  • Contact and registration information: e.g. name, e-mail address, user name and other details you provide when creating an account or purchasing a subscription. (Note: payment information for a subscription is collected and processed directly by the relevant payment service provider.)
  • Communication content: Information you provide when contacting us (e.g. the content of e-mails or messages sent via the contact form).
  • Usage data: Information about your interaction with our website (see section 5 "Cookies"), e.g. pages visited, click behaviour and dwell time.

Retention period: We store personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purposes or as required by law. When the purpose of processing ceases to apply or statutory retention periods expire, we routinely delete or anonymise the data.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

We process your personal data in accordance with the GDPR on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR): When you register on our platform or purchase a subscription, we process your data as necessary to provide our service and fulfil our contractual obligations.
  • Consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR): For certain processing activities (e.g. optional cookies / tracking technologies) we obtain your explicit consent beforehand. You can withdraw consent at any time with future effect.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR): We process some data to safeguard our legitimate interests, provided your interests do not override ours. This includes improving and statistically analysing our offering (website analytics) and ensuring IT security.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR): In cases where we are legally obliged to process data (e.g. statutory retention duties), we do so on this basis.
4. No Financial or Investment Advice

bitvizo does not provide financial or investment advice. The information and analyses on our platform are for informational purposes only and are intended to help you make well-informed trading decisions. bitvizo accepts no responsibility for users' trading decisions.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to provide certain functions and improve the user experience. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They do not harm your device.

Types of cookies we use:
  • Necessary (technical) cookies: Essential for the operation of the website and core functions (e.g. site navigation, storing login information, security features). Without these cookies, the site cannot function properly.
  • Preference cookies: Allow us to store your settings (e.g. language preference, layout settings) to provide a personalized experience.
  • Statistics & analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with our site. We use them to analyse usage and continuously improve our services. Pseudonymised usage profiles are created; direct identification is excluded. (Example: We use Google Analytics, which utilises cookies to collect information such as truncated IP address, browser type, pages visited and time spent. These data help us optimise our offering.)

Cookie settings: You can configure your browser to prevent cookies from being stored or to notify you before a new cookie is set. You may also reject non-essential cookies via our cookie banner. Please note that disabling certain cookies may limit website functionality.

6. Analytics Tools

To improve our offering and analyse usage of our website we employ tracking and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics). These services use cookies (see section 5) and similar technologies to collect information about user behaviour.

Processing by Google Analytics: Google Analytics collects, for example: IP address (anonymised), browser type/version, operating system, referrer URL, time of server request, click paths and dwell time. Google Analytics generates pseudonymised usage profiles that help us optimise our offering. Data are generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Your IP address is truncated so direct personal identification is not possible. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; we have also concluded EU Standard Contractual Clauses with Google to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

Opt-out: You can object to data collection and processing by analytics tools at any time, e.g. by enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" option, disabling cookies, installing a blocker extension or adjusting your cookie preferences on our site to reject analytics cookies.

7. Data Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not share personal data with third parties except in the following cases:

  • Contract performance: Where necessary to provide our services or execute the subscription contract (e.g. sharing payment data with payment providers or hosting providers).
  • With your explicit consent: If you instruct us or consent, we share data to the extent specified.
  • Legal obligations: If required by law or court order, we may share data with authorised bodies (e.g. authorities).
Examples of typical disclosures:
  • Payment providers: Necessary payment and transaction data may be forwarded to the payment service you have selected (e.g. credit-card provider, PayPal).
  • Hosting provider: Our site is hosted on servers of an external provider, which may have potential access to personal data (e.g. IP addresses in log files). A data-processing agreement ensures GDPR-compliant handling.
  • Legal enforcement: In exceptional cases (e.g. official inquiries, enforcement of our rights) we may be compelled to disclose data to authorities, courts or other authorised third parties.

Apart from these cases, no personal data are passed on to third parties.

8. Rights of Data Subjects

Under the GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access (Art. 15) - obtain information about your stored data and processing purposes.
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16) - request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17) - request deletion of data under certain conditions ("Right to be Forgotten")
  • Right to restriction (Art. 18) - request restriction of processing under certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20) - receive your data in a structured, commonly used format and transmit them to another controller.
  • Right to object (Art. 21) - object to processing based on legitimate interests; object to direct marketing at any time without giving reasons.

Exercising your rights: To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above (support@bitvizo.com). We may require proof of identity to protect against unauthorised requests. We will respond within statutory deadlines.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal or technical changes or to include new services/functions. The latest version is always available on our website. We will notify registered users of material changes (e.g. new processing purposes or new third-party providers) at least 30 days in advance by e-mail. Continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Otherwise you may exercise your right to object (see section 8).

12. Processing by Service Providers

If we engage external service providers to process personal data, we conclude data-processing agreements in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. These contracts oblige the provider to protect your data and grant us control and instruction rights to ensure high data-protection standards.

13. Use of Third-Party Tools and International Data Transfers

In addition to the tools mentioned (e.g. Google Analytics) bitvizo may integrate further third-party services in future (e.g. additional analytics tools, newsletter services). All such services will be used in compliance with applicable data-protection laws. We inform you in this policy about third-party providers used and obtain consent where required. By using our website and providing your personal data, you consent to the collection, processing and use of your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Explicit consent is not required where processing is based on a legal ground.
